Here are the reasons I haven't bought an iPhone yet:

Price

Carrier (I'm on Verizon and I don't want to switch)

No "To-Do" list! Hard to believe isn't it?

No Cut & Paste! Hard to believe isn't it?

No search! Searching is very limited.

It's hard to believe the iPhone can play HD video and store thousands of media elements, yet it doesn't have a freaking TO-DO list! DOH!

I'm holding out until price comes down and storage capacity increases. I'm guessing they'll perfect the UI/design around the 3rd generation. I'm still partial to my 3rd gen ipod (even though I now have a 5th). In the meantime, I'm thinking about getting a Newton 2100 off of ebay.

That's funny. The other point I was going to make was that my old newton has better PDA functionality than the iPhone does, even text recognition.

I have an old Newton, I'll have to check out what model it is -- you can have it! Might even be a prototype model

Unfortunately for Apple at the time, they were the guinea pigs for PDA's. Theirs was the best and coolest and one of the first. But their usual pricing (too high) killed them and PALM came in with units which were 1/3 of the cost. Apple lost a ton of $$ in R&D but if they would have just priced it lower and stuck with it they'd have cornered that market IMO.

I'd love to see that proto!
