If you are in the need of ram for your Macintosh, here’s a good chart for you to check out which will tell you the correct type to buy:
DDR2 667MHz FB-DIMM ECC RAM:

  • Mac Pro

DDR2 5300 SO-DIMM RAM:

  • MacBook Pro
  • MacBook
  • Mac mini with Intel Processor
  • iMac with Intel Processor

DDR 4200 RAM:

  • Power Mac G5 (Dual-core 2Ghz or 2.3GHz and Quad 2.5GHz)
  • iMac G5 (with iSight camera)

DDR 3200 RAM:

  • Power Mac G5 (Single and Dual Processor models, 1.6-2.7GHz)
  • iMac G5 (without iSight Camera)
  • Mac mini (Power PC, 1.25GHz - 1.42GHz)
  • Power Mac G4 (1.25GHz and higher)

    An unauthorized mac clone is now for sale by Psystar @ http://www.psystar.com/.

    Apple’s licensing agreement in OXS does state that you agreen not to install OSX on a non Apple machine.

    Interesting.  I imagine Apple will sue them into the next galaxy soon…

    Time Capsule sounds intriguing

    The Time Capsule unit is intriguing. I wonder just how functional that wireless hard drive is and how fast the data rates can be. What’s cool is to imagine having one hard drive networked to many machines. It would be cool to get my hands on one a play around with it.

    Now that I think of it, I wonder if it can actually function as a regular hard drive or if the unit only functions as a Time Machine drive… hmm.

    Apple Time CapsuleWireless Backup

    Apple’s hardware companion to Time Machine is an 802.11n wireless base station called Time Capsule .

    Essentially the Apple Time Capsule is an Airport Extreme with an internal hard drive (500GB or 1TB). The Time Capsule, in conjunction with Time Machine, can automatically back up all your Macs in your network.

    iPhone Backup?

    The Time Machine is “compatible” with other units like the iPhone but it isn’t specifically mentioned that the unit can also serve as a backup for those devices.
